Out of over 2,800 completed secondary applications, 135 matriculate into the final class. There are two routes of admission to the University of Florida College of Medicine: Regular Admissions – Applicants who have or will have at least a B.A. or B.S. degree; this pathway includes MD/graduate programs.
Regular Admissions is the standard process by which students enter the College of Medicine. Students apply initially through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Upon receiving a verified AMCAS, we will invite applicants to submit a secondary application.
We do not require a minimum MCAT score to receive a secondary invitation prior to the final score release of the year; however, a minimum of 500 is required for interview consideration. Our average science GPA for entering students is 3.86; our average MCAT is 515.

The student must be in good standing, per a Dean’s letter, in terms of both academic performance and professionalism. By the time of expected enrollment at UF COM the student must have completed the second year of medical school in good standing, and must have passed USMLE Step 1.
