All adult (Age 18 and over) league players shall be ranked 1-6 to ensure proper placement and to be averaged as a team to ensure parity and a fun hockey experience for everyone. Each player will self-rank when first registering for the league. See descriptions as well as our Skill Calculator below.
Adult Classics Division Descriptions. Open - These divisions are made up of players of all skill levels. Some players will have limited experience and some players will be advanced. Bring your best team and have fun! Gold – This division is made up of advanced to elite level players.
USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program has developed specific skill progressions which are age-appropriate for players and has also established coaching education curriculum levels for coaches.
In the United States, there are 3 "Tiers" of Junior hockey. Tier 1 is the top level and, as of right now, the USHL is the ONLY Tier 1 Junior hockey league. Though, in my opinion, the talent level isn't the "best of the best", it is the American equivalent to Canadian Major Juniors -- the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL.
Each age division is subdivided into skill levels: A, AA, and AAA, with single-A being the lowest and triple-A the highest levels. Level classifications are not changed from the previous system. What the new system loses in color, it gains in clarity.
