Silenced (Korean: 도가니, RR: Dogani; English: "The Crucible") is a 2011 South Korean crime drama film based on the novel The Crucible by Gong Ji-young, [2] directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk and starring Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi.
The real-life events inspired bestselling novelist Gong Ji-young to write a book entitled The Crucible (Korean: 도가니; RR: Dogani), which was published in 2009 and was later adapted into the 2011 film of the same name (the film adaptation was also released internationally under the title Silenced).
