The Engineering News-Record (widely known as ENR) is an American weekly magazine that provides news, analysis, data and opinion for the construction industry worldwide. It is widely regarded as one of the construction industry's most authoritative publications and is considered by many to be the "bible" of the industry.
In many industries, such as engineering and construction, the development and maintenance of the project schedule is the responsibility of a full-time scheduler or team of schedulers, depending on the size and the scope of the project. The techniques of scheduling are well developed [1] but inconsistently applied throughout industry.

Established in 1976, the journal became monthly in 1982, biweekly in 2008, 36/yr in 2013, and weekly in 2015. The editor in chief is Emre Veziroglu and the founding editor in chief is his father Turhan Nejat Veziroğlu (University of Miami).
Engineering was an instant success and soon overtook The Engineer as Colburn's writing style and wide engineering knowledge gave readers the information they needed. Engineering was initially published as an illustrated weekly magazine, edited by Zerah Colburn, with volumes published twice yearly in January and July. Volume 1 was issued 1866.
