The Idaho State Capitol in Boise is the home of the government of the U.S. state of Idaho.Although Lewiston briefly served as Idaho's capital city from the formation of the old federal Idaho Territory in 1863, the territorial legislature moved it to Boise on December 24, 1864.

John Everett Tourtellotte (February 22, 1869 – May 8, 1939) was a prominent western American architect, best known for his projects in Idaho.His work in Boise included the Idaho State Capitol, the Boise City National Bank, the Carnegie Library, and numerous other buildings for schools, universities, churches, and government institutions. [1]
Ben E. Bush, an agent of the state land board, became the first state forester in Idaho, and he served until 1933. Bush was also the brother in law of Senator Borah. [7] Although the state forester's office had been established in Coeur d'Alene, a second office was opened in 1935 in the Capitol Building in Boise. [8]
Later in 1863, he settled east of Boise City, and he brought his family from Waterloo to Boise City in 1865. The Bowns received a deed to their 131-acre homestead in 1869. [5] They and their seven children lived in a cabin at the site of the Bown ranch until construction of the Joseph Bown House in 1879. [4]

John Korvola was one of four Finnish homesteaders who came to Roseberry in Valley County, Idaho after the Spanish–American War. The town flourished until it failed to get the railroad, which passed 1.5 miles to the west, instead. The homestead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. [1]
The Boise Capitol Area District in Boise, Idaho, is an area of Downtown Boise that includes current and former government buildings, a former hotel, one cathedral, and one monument. [2] The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
