McIntosh County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,975, [1] a drop of 23.4 percent since the 2010 census. The county seat is Darien. [2] McIntosh County is included in the Brunswick, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
It was later named McIntosh after a local train station, which in turn was named after the surname of the station's depot agent. [ 5 ] : 41 A post office called McIntosh was established in 1857, and remained in operation until 1975. [ 6 ]
