TAFE Queensland North was formed on 1 July 2013 by the merger of Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE and Tropical North Queensland TAFE. [1] It services North Queensland and Far North Queensland , and is the largest TAFE region in Queensland with close to 20 campus locations in sixteen localities, covering an area of 52'000 kilometres.
TAFE Queensland is the statutory authority parent body for TAFE technical and further education training in the Australian state of Queensland. Established in 1882, TAFE Queensland is one of Australia's largest education providers with 120,000+ students trained each year [ 1 ] across the state, nationally and internationally.
In 2014, CQUniversity merged with CQ TAFE to establish Queensland's first dual sector university. [39] CQUniversity is now the public provider of TAFE in the central Queensland region and also delivers vocational courses at other locations across Australia and online.

The TAFE catered for approximately over 14,700 students from regional, national and international level. Tropical North Queensland TAFE was a TAFE institute which delivered vocational education and training programs across a 268,000 square kilometre area of north-eastern Australia. The Institute offered about 400 courses in 30 vocational training areas in Queensland.
There are 21 Queensland Government departments, each responsible for delivering a portfolio of government legislation and policy. [1] Each portfolio area is led by a minister who is a senior member of the governing party in the state Legislative Assembly .
TAFE Queensland East Coast covers the Sunshine Coast and part of the Wide Bay Burnett region in Queensland, Australia. [1] [2] It was formed in 2013 by the amalgamation of the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE and has eight campus locations. [2] [1] [3]
