Chautauqua County, in the southwestern corner of New York State, along the New York-Pennsylvania border, is the westernmost of New York's counties. Chautauqua Lake is located in the center of the county, and Lake Erie is its northern border. Part of the Eastern Continental Divide runs through Chautauqua County.

Arab Hill – A location near the eastern town line. It is one of the highest points in Chautauqua County at 2,100 feet (640 m). [7] Charlotte Center – A hamlet northeast of Sinclairville on County Road 77. Charlotte Center Gap Filler Annex [8] – A former military establishment and commercial transmitter site at the top of Arab Hill.
Chautauqua (/ ʃ ə ˈ t ɔː k w ə / shə-TAW-kwə) is a town and lake resort community in Chautauqua County, New York. [4] The population was 4,009 at the 2020 census. [ 2 ] The town is named after Chautauqua Lake .
Watermans Corners – A hamlet on the junction of County Road 52, Thumb Road and Bayview Road in the north part of the town. West Ellery – A hamlet in the north part of the town on County Road 46. Willow Brook – A location north of Bemus Point. Warner Bay - A community of homes and cottages along the bay on Chautauqua Lake with the same name.
Hanover Center – A hamlet southeast of Silver Creek on County Roads 89 and 93. Irving – A hamlet on NY-5 and US 20 on the northeast town line. The community was first called "Cattaraugus" and later "Acasto" and part of the community was called "La Grange" after the Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette who lived at La Grange in France. It is an east–west highway with a total length of 52.32 miles (84.20 km), 40.13 miles (64.58 km) of which is in Chautauqua County before it crosses into Cattaraugus County. [1] In Chautauqua County, NY 394 passes through Westfield, Mayville, Chautauqua, Lakewood, Jamestown, Falconer and Kennedy.
Lakewood is located at (42.100989, -79.321919), [3] at the south end of Chautauqua New York State Route 394 passes through the village as Fairmount Avenue, leading east 5 miles (8 km) to the center of Jamestown and northwest 6 miles (10 km) to Interstate 86 where it crosses Chautauqua Lake.
