Inks Lake is noted for its picturesque scenery, but fishing can be good as well. It contains under-rated largemouth bass and Guadalupe bass populations, along with several species of sunfish (bream).
Inks Lake State Park sits on the east edge of the Llano Uplift, the geologic heart of Texas. It has some of the best views of pre-Cambrian (more than 600 million years old) geology in the state. The pink rock islands jutting up through the limestone in the park are metamorphic rock called Valley Spring gneiss (“nice”).

Enjoy 1-4 miles of great paddling on Inks Lake. With two loop trails that don't need a shuttle and one linear trail that takes in some of the gorgeous Inks Lake shoreline, there's something for everyone.
A maximum of eight people (four in primitive and walk-in sites) is permitted per campsite. Guests must leave the park by 10 p.m. Quiet time is from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. An excess parking fee is required at campsites with more than two vehicles (including trailers).
Longhorn Cavern State Park is a day-use only park. There is no overnight camping. To camp nearby, contact Inks Lake State Park.
