Hudson Valley Hospital was first founded in 1889 by the Helping Hands Association in the City of Peekskill after a group of women raised $1,800 to purchase property on lower South Street. [2] The hospital was known as the Helping Hand Hospital until 1911 when it was incorporated as Peekskill Hospital.
In 2014, the hospital began an affiliation with New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is now called New York Presbyterian – Hudson Valley Hospital. The hospital has 128 inpatient beds and includes a comprehensive cancer center, maternity center, neonatal intensive care unit, and surgery center, among other patient care services.
