Gordon died in prison on March 13, 2023, at the age of 77. Two marriages, to singer Renee Armand and dancer Jill Barabe, both ended in divorce. He was survived by his daughter, who was born in 1968.
In addition to his work with Steely Dan, Fagen has released four solo albums, beginning with The Nightfly in 1982, which was nominated for seven Grammys. After Becker's death in 2017, Fagen reluctantly continued the group with himself as the sole official member. Steely Dan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. VH1 ranked Steely Dan at No. 82 on their list of the "100 Greatest Musical Artists of All Time". [9]
