The Museum is located approximately 5 miles from downtown San Antonio at 6000 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209. In addition to free, on-site parking for cars and buses, the Museum is accessible on foot, via bicycle or taxi/Uber/Lyft (rates from downtown are usually $15-17).
Dreamland | Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas marks the 30th anniversary of filmmaker Tim Burton’s 1993 stop-motion animated film. In the exhibition, visitors can reacquaint themselves with Burton’s awkwardly charming cast that includes Oogie Boogie, Bone Crusher, and the beloved hero, Jack Skellington.
McNay 70. In 2024, we are thrilled to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the McNay Art Museum. Built in the late 1920s by Marion Koogler McNay, the distinctive residence became the site of Texas’s first modern art museum when it opened in 1954.
Marion Koogler McNay’s Legacy presents the largest exhibition to date of items from McNay’s original 1950 bequest. The exhibition includes select artworks and objects from the items gifted to create the first modern art museum in Texas in 1954.
