I am choosing from the templates on word. Just as an example, I select the Banner Calendar pictured above. This pops up, I click the create button. Then I have the 12 months worth of pages in this calendar style. I can go in and change the year manually on the top right, but it does not change anything else. Thank you.
Clearly, these calendar templates should all contain macros that ask for the year and then arrange the dates correctly. A template that contains macro code must be saved as a *.dotm (macro-enabled) template file. The templates that you can download from the File > New page now are all *.dotx files, which cannot contain macros.
They only download a single 12 page document with one page for each month in 2024 and the only way to change it to 2025 is to go in and change the year and day one by one for each month. In the past, the banner calendar for example, either let you set the month and year when you created it or had an option to change the date under the template ...
So, instead, try FILE, NEW, search for online templates, Calendar, then instead choose the option that is called "Calendar" [top of document looks like JANYEAR) and change it to landscape after you generate the year/month that you desire. It only generates one month at a time. SD.

The calendar template with "JanYear" does have this pop up, so I ...
Microsoft changed all of the calendar templates that they offer online, so they produce only the current year's calendars. Although there's no public statement from them, it appears that they replaced all of the macro-enabled templates (*.dotm) with ones that don't contain macros (*.dotx). The macros were the part that enabled selection of a date.
In neither case will they be part of the document file. Word just doesn't work that way. In Word on the originating computer, go to File > Options >Add-ins and examine the list of active add-ins. If you find one that refers to "calendar", the Type column of that row will show whether it's a template or a COM add-in.
Calendar Templates - Word 2016. After updating to Office 2016, calendar templates will not allow a calendar date older than May 2016. Trying to open an old calendar from 2015 and it wants to change the dates.
To be clear, the 2025 calendars on my site don't let you change the start date, but they do let you print the entire year or any one or more months, one month per page. The other two files contain macros that let you set the starting date. JW. Jenelle Welz. Replied on October 2, 2024.
What happened to the word calendar wizard? seems to have disappeared in word 2016. Used to use this every year to print a calendar.
