The Frito Bandito was the cartoon mascot for Fritos corn chips from 1967 to 1971. [1] The Bandito was created by the Foote, Cone & Belding Agency and animated by Tex Avery . The character was voiced by Mel Blanc , who used an exaggerated Mexican accent resembling that of Speedy Gonzales , another of his characters.
At one point in the early 1990s, "Corn Pringles" were available; the canister was black and had cartoon images of corn. The chips were made of corn and resembled a corn chip in flavor and texture. Rice Pringles were also available in the UK although they have since been discontinued.
