British Showjumping is the Great Britain governing body for the equestrian sport of showjumping. It provides the competitors for Team GBR in international competition and sets the rules under which affiliated competitions are held. He is a member of the Whitaker show jumping dynasty involving his father, his uncle John Whitaker, as well as his cousins Robert, William and Ellen Whitaker. [ 17 ] [ 18 ] He has two sisters Katie and Molly.
Whitaker has represented the British Team many times from junior pony level to the senior ranks. [1] One of Whitaker's career highlights to date was becoming the British Open Champion at the inaugural British Open Show Jumping Championships in 2003. He has since been crowned champion again in 2008 and 2009.

Stockdale started competing professionally in 2018, and was named Young British Rider of the Year in 2022. [5] [6] He made his senior championship team debut at the 2021 European Championship. [7] He won team bronze at the 2022 FEI World Championships in Herning, Denmark, alongside Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Harry Charles. [8] [9]
She also took British Showjumping's Young (under 21) Rider of the Year Award for 2015. In 2016, at the age of 20, she became the youngest competitor in 40 years to join the Team GBR Olympic squad when she was travelling reserve in Rio.
