I routinely hear people referring to 7.62x39mm ammo simply as “SKS ammo”, “AK ammo” and “AK-47 ammo”. I have even seen boxes of ammo marked as “AK47 rifle ammo” [1] . I have never heard anyone call it 7.62mm Warsaw Pack, 7.62mm WP, 7.62mm ComBloc or .30 Short Russaian/ComBloc.
