The Ganatanra Parishad (GP) or the All India Ganatantra Parishad (AIGP) was a regional political party based in Orissa state in eastern India from 1950 to 1962. This political party was formed by the former rulers of the erstwhile princely states and big landlords. [ 1 ]

There are three national parties (the Communist Party of India, Congress and the Praja Socialist Party), one state party (Ganatantra Parishad), one registered unrecognised party (Jharkhand Party) and some Independent Politicians. All took part in this assembly election.
Initially Ganatantra was published from Bolangir, later moving to Cuttack. [2] It started as a weekly newspaper, later converted into a daily. Surendra Mohanty was the editor of the newspaper. Ganatantra was published by Rajendra Narayan Singhdeo, the maharaja of Bolangir, and was politically aligned with the Ganatantra Parishad party. [1]
