Frisco was the location of the first official state BBQ challenge in 1993. The event is held annually, and benefits non-profits. In the last fifteen years (to 2012), the event has raised over $500,000. The event moved to Copper Mountain in 2023 and will not continue. [12]
Kids BBQ Championship is an American cooking reality competition television series that aired on Food Network. [ 2 ] The first season of the series officially premiered on May 23, 2016; [ 2 ] and it was presented by chef Eddie Jackson and model Camila Alves , [ 1 ] who also served as judges.
The eight-episode first season was filmed in a docu-reality format, as it followed several competing BBQ teams around the country to various BBQ contests. Season two premiered on August 12, 2010, at 10 pm EDT featuring a completely new competition game show-based format. [1] Each week, four teams competed against each other.
