He is obsessed with acquiring Lumen Histoire, an act resulting in his expulsion from Fairy Tail six years earlier.

He is most well known for portraying Kamina in Gurren Lagann, Laxus Dreyar in Fairy Tail and Tanktop Master in One Punch Man. In the early 2000s until the year 2008 he gave the voice to Ikki of Phoenix in Saint Seiya throughout the Hades Saga. He is also known for voicing two characters, Keigo Asano and Shuhei Hisagi, both from Bleach.

Laxus Dreyar defends Touka and threatens Jellal into withdrawing, but warns Touka against keeping secrets that could endanger Fairy Tail. Touka later attempts to steal Jellal's magic for his interference, but stops herself before Gajeel apprehends her, revealing Touka and the White Wizard to be separate personalities.

While attempting to integrate himself into the guild, Gajeel is pestered by Jet and Droy to atone for attacking them as a member of Phantom Lord. He is also attacked by Laxus, who blames Fairy Tail's recent changes for the guild's faltering reputation. After Gajeel defends Levy from Laxus's backlash, Laxus decides to take over the guild by force.
Since the opponent is from a suspicious guild, the Fairy Tail members take extra precautions by watching the actions of Ivan Dreyar as well as the other four Raven Tail members. However, as the match commences, the spectators are shocked to see Laxus being beaten by Alexei, although no cautious movements can be seen from the Raven Tail team.
