AirShow San Diego (formerly Wings over Gillespie) was an air show usually held during the first weekend of June at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, California.It was conducted by the San Diego wing (Air Group One) of the Commemorative Air Force.
Gillespie is the home of the restoration facility Gillespie Field Annex [9] for the San Diego Air & Space Museum. [10] It is open to the public and has on display many vintage and modern aircraft. [ 11 ]
The Gillespie Field Annex is open to the public with numerous aircraft on display outdoors, a Convair SM-65 Atlas ICBM, museum model shop, and a restoration shop. The museum's library contains an extensive collection of aircraft books and historic photographs of aircraft and aircraft manufacturing.

July 10 – Pilots Jimmy Franklin and Bobby Younkin were killed in a mid-air collision during a dogfight routine at the Saskatchewan Centennial Air Show in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
