Kala Keerthi Monica Ruwanpathirana (Sinhala: මොනිකා රුවන්පතිරණ) (1946 – 2004) was a Sri Lankan poet and writer. She is considered one of the most acclaimed poets in modern Sinhala poetry. [2] She has written 23 books, including nineteen poetry and three of them won the State Literary Award. [3]
Wikkrama Sinha's first book of verse, Lustre: Poems (Kandy, 1965 ), was written entirely in English. Feeling constrained by his education to write in the language of what he believed to be 'the most despicable people on earth', he set himself to write as anarchically as possible. [ 3 ]
Guththila Kawya (Sinhala: ගුත්තිල කාව්ය, Anglicized: Guttila Kāvya) is a book of poetry written in the period of the Kingdom of Kotte (1412-1597) by Weththewe Thero. [ 1 ] The book is based on a story of previous birth of Gautama Buddha mentioned on Guththila Jataka in Jataka tales of Gautama Buddha.

The largest part of Sri Lankan literature was written in the Sinhala language, but there is a considerable number of works in other languages used in Sri Lanka over the millennia (including Tamil, Pāli, and English). However, the languages used in ancient times were very different from the language used in Sri Lanka now.
Hela Hawula' was formed as the only organization in Sri Lanka to protect and uplift the Sinhala language, Sinhala land and Sinhala culture. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] 'Hela Hawula' has been recognized as a statutory body by the adoption of the Hela Hawula Establishment Act No. 38 in the Parliament of Sri Lanka Act No. 1992.
On the occasion of the 2500th anniversary of the Sinhala nation, he was honored as 'Mahakavi' who wrote the great poem 'Sinhala Vamsaya' with 2500 poems. The poetry later won state awards. His prose essay 'Kawuduwa' was published in 1954. [3] His other prose works include Giyakala, Baspara, and literary critics such as Ape Kavi and Ape Asun Kavi.
