The Kingdom Shopping Centre is an indoor retail and commercial complex in Glenrothes, located in the town centre.It is the largest indoor shopping centre in Fife and is one of the largest single-level indoor shopping centres in Scotland with around 40,000 m 2 (430,000 sq ft) of (gross) floorspace.
Glenrothes is unique in Fife as much of the town centre floorspace is internalised within Fife's largest shopping centre, the Kingdom Shopping Centre. Public facilities include a regional sports and leisure centre, two golf courses, major parks, a civic centre and theatre and a college campus.
In the 1970s the Glenrothes Development Corporation expanded the hamlet to become a housing precinct. A neighbourhood shopping centre which takes the name of the village was also established as part of the development. The original section of the Cadham Village is now designated a conservation area. Buses run every twenty minutes to and from Balfarg and the Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes town centre. The area is in the catchment of Pitcoudie Primary and St Pauls Roman Catholic Primary schools. High Schools Glenwood and Glenrothes High and St Andrews RC in Kirkcaldy have students from the area.
