"The original Bunbury Bridge (right) was a single line timber railway bridge which took the railway line across the Swan River at East Perth near where Claise Brook enters the river. It was built as part of the Armadale line, which was opened to traffic on 2nd May 1889. The original stations were Perth, Kelmscott and Armadale.
Council House, Perth. The Perth Town Hall, built between 1868 and 1870, was designed as an administrative centre for the newly formed City of Perth.By the late 1950s the Town Hall was considered too small for the council's requirements so Council House, a modernist steel and glass building, was commissioned.
This growth eventually spread east as part of the Bickford development. Bickford was a name chosen by real estate company Peet and Co (now Peet Limited) for the sale of residential land in the area.
