The Kashmere Gate station serves the historic Kashmiri Gate area of Delhi, and is the largest metro station within the Delhi Metro network, spanning a carpet area of about 118,400 square feet (11,000 m 2) [4]. It is also the only metro station in India to function as an interchange for three lines: the Red Line, Yellow Line, and Violet Line. [5]
The Violet Line (Line 6) is a rapid transit metro line of the Delhi Metro in Delhi, India. The line connects Kashmere Gate station in New Delhi with Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh via Faridabad. [2] The line consists of 34 metro stations with a total length of 46.34 kilometres (28.79 mi). [3]

The section from Central Secretariat to Mandi House was opened on 26 June 2014, followed by the stretch from Mandi House to ITO on 8 June 2015. The final segment, from ITO to Kashmere Gate, was inaugurated on 28 May 2017.
The Rajiv Chowk Metro station serves as an interchange station between the Blue and Yellow Lines of the Delhi Metro. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] As of October 2023, it is the second busiest station on the network, with a daily ridership of approximately 216,000 passengers [ 1 ] The station covers an area of about 39,503 square feet (3,669.9 m²).
The Violet Line links it with Badarpur Border. The station provides a same-level interchange between the two lines. [ 1 ] It was the southern terminus of the Yellow Line from 3 July 2005 to 3 September 2010, [ 2 ] and the northern terminus of the Violet Line from 3 October 2010 to 26 June 2014.
The ITO metro station is the last station to be opened individually before the entire corridor is commissioned in 2016. Part of the 'Heritage Line', the station is followed by stations – Delhi Gate metro station, Jama Masjid metro station, Lal Qila metro station and Kashmere Gate metro station.
