Next Star is a Romanian reality competition television series broadcast on the Romanian television station Antena 1. It debuted in 2013. The focus of the series was to discover singing talent in those aged 3 to 13 years. The top prize is 20,000 euros. [1] The series is presented by Dan Negru, and contestants are assessed by a jury of professionals.
The auditions take place in front of the judges and a live audience at different cities across Romania and Moldova.Unlike X Factor, at any time during the audition, the judges may show disapproval to the act by pressing a buzzer which lights a large red "X" on the stage, indicating that they particularly dislike the act and do not wish the performance to continue.
The blind auditions have also been extended from five to six episodes. The pre-selection phase was extended to more locations across Romania; they were held June 4 to June 29, 2012, in Bucharest, Iași, Constanța, Timișoara and Cluj-Napoca. [2] The season finale aired on December 26, 2012.
