DERMOTT, Ark. – Severe weather can strike anywhere, but not all areas have the best ability to catch the threat. Parts of the Arkansas Delta are over 100 miles from the nearest radar creating gaps in coverage, but that’s about to change.
After a few morning thunderstorms, another round is expected to arrive in Central Arkansas around Noon. Heavy rain and a chance of severe weather will come with these storms. The storms may first enter West Arkansas around 10 AM.
The threat should transition to a heavy rain threat late Thursday evening into early Friday morning. At this time, the weekend looks dry with cooler temperatures.
