Kingsweston was created as an electoral ward in 1980, initially electing one member to Avon County Council and two members to Bristol City Council. [3] The ward was abolished following a Local Government Boundary Commission review in 2015, with much of the area moving into the new Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston ward, and some joining Stoke Bishop ward.
The largest county is Allen (657 sq. mi., 1,702 km 2) and the smallest is Ohio (86 sq. mi., 223 km 2). [3] According to the Constitution of Indiana, no county may be created of less than 400 square miles (1,000 km 2), nor may any county smaller than this be further reduced in size, which precludes any new counties. [4]
The ward was created in 1974, initially represented by three members on Bristol City Council and one member on Avon County Council. [18] Its boundaries were adjusted in 1981, 1999 and 2016. [19] [20] [21] In the 2016 boundary changes, Withywood transferred from Bishopsworth to the new Hartcliffe and Withywood ward. [21]
