Toomevara, officially Toomyvara [2] [3] (Irish: Tuaim Uí Mheára, meaning 'tumulus of the Ó Meadhra's'), is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland, 11 km east of Nenagh. It is a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe, [4] and is in the historical barony of Ormond Upper.

Tomás Dunne (born 21 May 1974) is an Irish hurling coach and former player who is from Toomevara, County Tipperary in Ireland. He is the current coach of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Dunne enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Toomevara GAA club and at inter-county level with Tipperary.
At club level, McCarthy first played for Toomevara at juvenile and underage levels. He won consecutive North Tipperary U19AHC titles in 2023 and 2024. [4] [5] McCarthy also joined the club's senior team in 2023 and was the overall top scorer when Toomevara were beaten in the 2024 SHC final. [6]
The 2024 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 134th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The defending champions were Kiladangan but they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by Moycarkey–Borris .
