It came into existence in 1961 as a humble effort to carry out Swami Vivekananda's ideals of education among women. [1] The name Pravrajika means a "mendicant nun" or Sannyasini and the suffix prana to her name Shraddha followed means "one whose is devoted to" spirituality.
