Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, [a] was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide.
[1] After five years of work and schooling, Gaudi qualified as an architect in 1878. As Elies Rogent signed Gaudí's degree he declared, "Qui sap si hem donat el diploma a un boig o a un geni. El temps ens ho dirà." ("Who knows if we have given this diploma to a nut or to a genius. Time will tell.") Gaudi immediately began to plan and design.
Burns eventually became the godfather of two of their three children, Ruth and the Edinburgh composer Robert Crawford. By the early 20th century Burns was already fairly successful, allowing him to purchase 49 Northumberland Street; a large Georgian town house in Edinburgh's New Town, where he converted the attic into a large studio space.
