Siraj-Khaleda Memorial Cantonment Board General Hospital is a large Government General hospital in Dhaka Cantonment with 100 beds and 26 cabins. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurates the hospital constructed by Siraj-Khaleda Trust on 13 March, 2012.
The commander of Sector 2 also known as K-Force Major General Khaled Mosharraf was operating in this area. He named it as Bangladesh Field Hospital. At first it was only 480-bed hospital to treat wounded freedom fighters. In the newly independent country Bangladesh, the government had objected to its name Bangladesh Field Hospital.
But the organisation failed to do so. Then in 2009 the government sued American Hospital Consortium for taking over rights of the government hospital illegally, leaving the matter of agreement cancellation pending. Six years later, the court ruled in favor of the government and the custody of the hospital was given to the health ministry. [1]
