Samuel Gompers High School, 23rd Avenue and Lane Street, 1959–1966, became part of Seattle Central Community College. [5] Jr. high schools and middle schools previously included in district: Jane Addams Jr. High School. Built 1949 as part of the Shoreline School District. Annexed by Seattle 1954. Closed 1984; used since 1985 by Summit K-12.
The school opened in 1902 and it was first called "West Seattle School." In 1917, the current building was opened and the school was renamed "West Seattle High School." The mascot was an Indian Chief, and the athletic teams were known as the Indians. A change in the nickname was considered several times beginning in 1974.

James A. Garfield High School was founded in 1920 as East High School at its current location. [3] The first graduating class consisted of 282 students who transferred from Broadway High School. Lincoln High School (shortened to Lincoln High, Lincoln, or L.H.S.) is a public high school in Seattle, Washington, part of the Seattle Public Schools district and named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. It is Seattle Public School's oldest operating high school.
