The Central Churchill Historic District is a predominantly residential historic district in Holyoke, Massachusetts. It is centered on the campus of the Church of the Sacred Heart, but consists mainly of apartment block dating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. King's Department Stores was a chain of discount stores in the Eastern United States. The chain started in 1956, in Brockton, Massachusetts. They expanded to 187 stores (three stores operated in the Buffalo, New York area [1]). [2] In 1978, they purchased the bankrupt Mammoth Mart chain. [2]
