Springfield is a city in and the county seat of Clark County, Ohio, United States. [5] The municipality is located in southwestern Ohio and is situated on the Mad River, Buck Creek, and Beaver Creek, about 45 miles (72 km) west of Columbus and 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Dayton.
Springfield was founded in 1800, [2]: 129 but for its first half-century of existence, the land now included within the district was used for agricultural purposes. SR 334 was first designated in 1969. At that time, it was routed between what was then designated as US 68 (now SR 72) and its current eastern terminus at SR 4.
