Hugh Roe O'Donnell II (Irish: Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill; c. 30 October 1572 – 10 September 1602), [a] also known as Red Hugh O'Donnell, was an Irish clan chief, Lord of Tyrconnell from 1592 until his death in 1602, [3] and senior leader of the Irish confederacy during the Nine Years' War.
