The hospital is located in the village of Banga, in the city of Entebbe, in Wakiso District, in the Central Region of Uganda. This location is approximately 8.9 kilometres (5.5 mi), by road, north of the Entebbe International Airport. CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital, is a specialized surgical hospital in the Buganda Region of Uganda. The hospital focuses on the surgical correction and rehabilitation of orthopedic problems which account for over 50 percent of the patients served. About 45 percent of those served, receive plastic surgery, VVF repair and burns treatment. [1]
In the northwestern part of Banga, the government of Uganda, through the Uganda Ministry of Health, donated land on which the Italian NGO, EMERGENCY built Entebbe Children's Surgical Hospital. The 72-bed facility which was built between 2017 and 2020, opened for patients in April 2021.
The hospital featured prominently during the two COVID-19 pandemic waves in Uganda, one in 2020 and another 2021. According to Dr Moses Muwanga, the medical director, at one time during the second wave, the 200-bed hospital had 160 Covid-19 inpatients. The Daily Monitor newspaper referred to the hospital as Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital. [6]

In March 2019, the Parliament of Uganda approved a government guarantee of US$379.7 million (USh1.3 trillion) to construct this hospital. A consortium comprising Finasi of Italy and ROKO Construction Limited of Uganda, was selected to construct the hospital. The facility will include an 80-bed cancer centre.
