George Lynch (born September 28, 1954) is an American guitarist, best known for his work with the hard rock band Dokken and his post-Dokken solo band Lynch Mob. He is regarded as one of the most renowned and influential rock guitarists of the 1980s, noted for his distinctive playing style and sound.

The classic Dokken line-up consisted of founder Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch on lead guitar, Mick Brown on drums and Jeff Pilson, who replaced the Ratt-bound Juan Croucier in 1983, on bass; this line-up remained stable from 1983 to 1989, and again from 1993 to 1998, [11] and briefly reunited in 2016. Lynch Mob was formed in 1989, from the remains of Lynch's former band, Dokken. [2] The band original line-up also featured Dokken's drummer, Mick Brown. The first Lynch Mob album was released in 1990, titled Wicked Sensation.

Guitarist George Lynch was previously a member of Dokken from the late 70's to late 80's. Following the breakup of the band in 1989, [1] Lynch formed Lynch Mob with former Dokken bandmate Mick Brown. [1] When Lynch Mob were auditioning for singers, London LeGrand send in an audition tape. [2] [3] However, the band never contacted LeGrand. [2]
