St. Michael's College School (also known as St. Michael's, St. Mike's, and SMCS), is an independent, Catholic school for young men in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.Administered by the Basilian Fathers, it is the largest school of its kind in Canada, with an enrolment of approximately 750 students from grades 7 to 12.
The St. Michael's College Hockey Team was established in 1906 when the team joined the junior division of the Ontario Hockey Association. The team was not known as the St. Michael's Majors until 1934, and also had the informal nickname of the "Irish". The school team played for 55 years until 1961 before suspending operations.
It was founded in 1929 as the Institute of Mediaeval Studies at St. Michael's College of the University of Toronto.
