The station continued to be used for maritime patrols and search and rescue duties. It was also a site for diversions with a number of military and commercial aircraft making use of St Eval due to bad weather at their destination airfield. On 1 December 2008 the airfield part of the camp (including the civilian side) closed but the RAF still remain on a reduced area.
