Before I'm Over You is a studio album by American country singer-songwriter Loretta Lynn. It was released on June 22, 1964 via Decca Records and was produced by Owen Bradley . It was Lynn's second studio album issued in her recording career and contained a total of 12 tracks.
Lynn was born Loretta Webb in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, on April 14, 1932. [3] She was the oldest daughter and second child born to Clara Marie "Clary" (née Ramey; May 5, 1912 – November 24, 1981) and Melvin Theodore "Ted" Webb (June 6, 1906 – February 22, 1959).
Lynn named the song based on the setting in which the incident took place: a hotel in Portland, Oregon. [3] Once composing it, Lynn did not record it for many years until meeting rock artist Jack White. While meeting Lynn at her house for dinner, White came across a pile of handwritten songs.
