The Hackleman Historic District in Albany Oregon, was placed on the list of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982. The district contains 228 historic properties within about a 28 city blocks area. The district was named after Abner Hackleman who came to Albany in 1845. [2]
The Monteith Historic District is home to many different buildings of interest, including the Monteith House located at 518 Second Avenue, which now used as a museum. It is owned by the City of Albany, and the non-profit Monteith Historic Society provides financial and volunteer resources for its maintenance, restoration and operation. [5]
Shedd is in western Linn County in the Willamette River valley, with Shedd Slough, a tributary of the Calapooia River, flowing northwards on the east side of town. Oregon Route 99E passes through the center of town, leading north 12 miles (19 km) to Albany and south 5 miles (8 km) to Halsey.
