The Kelch Gothic Revival silver service, created in 1900, was one of the finest silver services made by Peter Carl Fabergé. The silverware was commissioned by Alexander and Barbara Kelch (Russian: Кельх, Kelkh). Peter Carl Fabergé considered it the most important silver masterpiece made in his workshop; it was also the most expensive. [1]

Gorham Silver was founded in 1831 in Providence, Rhode Island by Jabez Gorham, [3] a master craftsman, in partnership with Henry L. Webster. [4] The firm's chief product was spoons of coin silver. The company also made thimbles, combs, jewelry, and other small items.
The firm operated independently as Elkington & Co. from 1861 until 1963. It was then taken over by British Silverware, Ltd.. In 1971 British Silverware, Ltd. became a subsidiary of Delta Metal Co. Ltd. [1] Over the course of history it became very successful and was one of the prime producers of silver plating.
