The school continues to coordinate with Bexley London Borough Council for admissions. St. Columba's Catholic Boys' School has a sister school, St. Catherine's Catholic School for Girls, which is on a separate site nearby. Following a short inspection of the school on 23 January 2019 James Whiting, the Ofsted Inspector, ranked the school 'good'.

On 1 September 2011, Bexleyheath School became Bexleyheath Academy, sponsored by the London Academies Enterprise Trust (LAET), part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) family of schools. Headmaster Malcolm Noble retired after 14 years in the 2007 Summer term. He was replaced on an interim basis by Paul O'Brien.

Bexleyheath is a town in south-east London, England, in the London Borough of Bexley. It had a population of approximately 15,600 in 2021 [ 1 ] and is 12 miles (19 kilometres) southeast of Charing Cross .
St Catherine's Catholic School for Girls is a Roman Catholic girls' secondary school located in the Bexleyheath area of the London Borough of Bexley, England. The school was established by La Sainte Union (Holy Union) sisters in 1953 as a convent school. [ 1 ]
St Columba's College is a co-educational 4–18 private, Catholic day school and sixth form in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. It was founded in 1939 by Phillip O’Neil and taken over by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in 1955. It is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.
