In 2019 the university celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Bauhaus, together with partners all over the world. The main building of the Bauhaus-Universität (built 1904–1911, designed by Henry van de Velde to house the sculptors' studio at the Grand Ducal Saxon Art School.
