Silverstein (/ ˈ s ɪ l. v ər. s t iː n /) is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein , who the band had admired and whose work they had read as children. [ 1 ]

On June 15, 2017, Silverstein premiered "Lost Positives" through Alternative Press ' website, where Told and Paul Marc Rousseau discussed the song and album in a short interview. [11] On July 6, 2017, Silverstein released the track "Whiplash" through Rise Records' YouTube channel. [16] "Mirror Box" was released on July 10. [17]
A lyric video for the song "Milestone" was released on March 4, 2015. This video consists of footage from Silverstein's Discovering the Waterfront 10th anniversary tour as well as images of highways and buildings. This is all overlaid by the lyrics of the song.
On November 11, 2012 Silverstein was teasing something for the date November 26. [19] On November 26, This Is How the Wind Shifts was announced. [20] "Stand Amid the Roar" was available for streaming a day later [21] and released as a single on December 4. [22] "Massachusetts" was released as a single on January 15, 2013. [23]
On March 23, 2023, Silverstein announced Misery Made Me Deluxe, an extended version of the album which was released on April 7. [11] The deluxe edition features live performances and remixes of songs from the standard album, as well as new single "Poison Pill", one of two previously unheard tracks from the original recording sessions.
Silverstein released "Burn It Down" on June 27, 2019. With a vocal feature from Caleb Shomo of Beartooth, the song was the band's first new material since 2017's Dead Reflection. Vocalist Shane Told said that "Burn It Down" "picks up right where Dead Reflection left off". [8]
