Mongoloid (/ ˈ m ɒ ŋ ɡ ə ˌ l ɔɪ d /) [1] is an obsolete racial grouping of various peoples indigenous to large parts of Asia, the Americas, and some regions in Europe and Oceania.
The dictionary definition simply means malformed, deformed, not on par with the standard. That is precisely what a mental handicap is, and it is the best term to use in the most generic sense. No word has negative meaning but the meanings we choose to give it.
