The Village Community Boathouse (or VCB) is a Manhattan-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting rowing, boat building, environmental stewardship and human-powered recreational boating on the Hudson River and the New York Estuary. VCB is entirely run by volunteers and financed by donations and modest membership fees.
The boathouse was built in 1904 and was known as Tims's for the first forty years. Punts and small rowing boats can be rented for use on the river. A restaurant and riverside café can be found on the same site. It is very popular with tourists and students in the summer. Upstream, punts can be taken to the Victoria Arms, Marston, a public house.

[3] The original village of Short Pump was located at the intersection of Three Chopt Road (formerly known as Three Notched Trail), Richmond Turnpike and Pouncey Tract Road.
