Dividing Creek is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) [5] located in Downe Township in Cumberland County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. [6]Dividing Creek is located on County Route 553 9.7 miles (15.6 km) south-southwest of Millville [7] and is also the location of the southern terminus of County Route 555.

Dividing Creek is a 19.1-mile-long (30.7 km) [1] [2] tributary of the Pocomoke River on the Delmarva Peninsula. It rises in Wicomico County, Maryland, and forms the boundary between Somerset and Worcester counties. The entire watershed is in the Atlantic coastal plain and quickly reaches sea level at the Pocomoke.
From New Jersey, the Big Flatbrook, Pequest, Musconetcong, and Maurice rivers, plus Oldmans, Raccoon and Rancocas creeks, flow into the Delaware.
