Forest National opened on 8 October 1970 with a performance by Maurice Béjart's Ballet of the 20th Century. [3] Then it had a capacity of 5,500 seats. A renovation followed in 1995, which increased the capacity and improved lighting and sound systems. In 2005, there were plans for a new venue on the border with Drogenbos and Sint-Pieters-Leeuw.

The 1991 Donnay Indoor Championships was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts at the Forest National in Brussels, Belgium which was part of the Championship Series category of the 1990 ATP Tour. It was the 10th edition of the tournament and was held from 11 February until 17 February 1991.
The ING Arena is an indoor arena in Brussels, Belgium, that is part of the Brussels Expo complex. Located on the Heysel/Heizel Plateau in Laeken (northern part of the City of Brussels), it was originally built as the twelfth hall of the complex in 1989, but was extensively redesigned and reopened in its current form in September 2013. The plans were put on hold when in 2014, Anderlecht agreed to become anchor tenant of the planned 60,000+ new national stadium in Brussels. After Anderlecht withdrew from the project, the plans for an expansion of its own stadium were eventually also shelved in 2022, due to financial and political reasons.
