Kay County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2020 census, its population was 43,700. [1] Its county seat is Newkirk, [2] and the largest city is Ponca City. Kay County comprises the Ponca City micropolitan statistical area. It is in north-central Oklahoma on the Kansas state line.
Dilworth was one of the many oil boomtowns created in Kay County, Oklahoma during the early part of the 20th Century. [1] It was located about 10.5 miles northwest of Newkirk, the county seat, or about 14 miles by present-day roads. [2] [3] While it is now designated a Populated Place, it is considered a ghost town.
